Ludhiana, January 31, 2017: District Ludhiana has become the first district in the Northern India which has set up two national records in two days. Under the leadership of district Ludhiana, more than 6000 voters had clicked their collective photograph yesterday with their voter cards , whereas today people of Ludhiana participated whole heartedly in making of Asia’s largest Human Chain under the leadership of a Hindi Newspaper Group.

Regarding the achievements, Deputy Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Sh. Ravi Bhagat told that the largest human chain of Asia (as per the newspaper reports) was formed by the people of four districts under the efforts of a Hindi Newspaper Group. Thousands of people of these four districts spread the message of ethical use of voting. In this chain, 55 educational institutions and 17525 citizens of Ludhiana participated which was an achievement beyond the sky. This chain has found its place in ‘Indian Book of Records’.

It is also worth mentioning that the district administration, Ludhiana had organized a voter awareness programme yesterday at Indor Stadium on the Pakhowal Road in which more than 6000 voters had set up a new national record by taking their photographs collectively with their voter cards in hand. This record was also got registered in the India Book of Records. In the same way, in the record of Human Chain, district Ludhiana got the status of becoming the first district of the northern India for its maximum participation. It has also got the status of setting up of two national records in two days. Prior to that, a district of Kerala has won laurels by making 7 records in 7 days. Sh. Bhagat, while praising the people of the district, said that all the voters and participants would be honoured with appreciation letters by the district administration. Before that, he also took participation in the Human Chain at the Toll Plaza on the Ladhowal Road and motivated the participants.
