Ludhiana, September 16, 2019: Strengthening its commitment to provide quality healthcare services to all sections of society, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in association with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super-speciality Hospital, in Katra, entered into a partnership with Ludhiana based “Have a Heart Foundation” to sponsor Heart Surgeries for Children within the age bracket of one day to 16 years, belonging to underprivileged backgrounds. President of the Have A Heart Foundation (Ludhiana), Balbir Kumar met Satya Pal Malik, Governor, Jammu &Kashmir, on September 14, 2019, at Raj Bhawan, Jammu, and briefed him about this important project. Simrandeep Singh (IAS), CEO of the Shrine Board along with K. S. Dattatreya, Facility Director of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Hospital, were also present during the meeting with the Governor. Have a Heart Foundation (Ludhiana) has been sponsoring patients since 2013 and so far 192 children have been benefitted from their noble initiative. The Foundation already partners with leading Health institutions in Ludhiana and Bangalore to carry forward its mission. However, based on the interest shown by Have A heart Foundation (Ludhiana) and the competence of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Narayana hospital, particularly in Cardiology, the present partnership has been finalised in which the Shrine Board and the Foundation will jointly bear the burden of these surgeries. It is pertinent to mention that more than 60 patients, only from the state of J&K, are in long waiting, ranging from 1-2 years, at PGI/ AIIMS for such procedures/ surgeries. This initiative will immediately bring relief to these families. The Governor welcomed the initiative and noted that this will benefit hundreds of children who are awaiting these interventions. He particularly appreciated the efforts of the Have A Heart Foundation (Ludhiana) in coming forward and partnering with the Shrine and the hospital in this noble cause. He assured full cooperation and assistance to the Foundation.
