Jalandhar, January 13, 2018: The famous Punjabi cultural festival of Lohri was celebrated with full colour and zest in Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. Various colorful facets of Punjabi culture and lifestyle were at display in this impressive program put up by the joint efforts of College Governing Council, Principal, Teaching and Non-teaching staff of the college.
College Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra kicked off the program by lighting up the festivities as per the traditions of the Lohri festival adding warmth into the atmosphere.
Principal Dr.Gurpinder Singh Samra expressed his happiness on the shift from the traditional Lohri celebrations to the modern day liberal facet of the occasion which has stood up for gender equality and he urged the society to keep up such good initiatives. Various items regarding the culture and lifestyle of Punjab were duly depicted in the proceedings which were met with a tremenduous response from the audience. Various representatives from media houses were also present on the occasion for a special coverage.
