LUDHIANA: The Liquor vends in Ludhiana district were auctioned in a whopping Rs 827.95 crores for 2018-19 financial year. The entire auction process was completed in a hassle-free manner and transparently on Tuesday.
The auction took place under the supervision of deputy excise and taxation commissioner-Cum-Collector Pawan Kumar Garg, additional excise and taxation commissioner-1 Kumar Saurabh Raj at Local resorts. From the administration, Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, ADC Jagraon Neeru Katyal Gupta were also present in the auction.
The allotment of 697 Punjab Medium Liquor (PML) vends and 580 Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) was carried out through draw system which was divided into 149 groups that fetched Rs 827.95 crore from the auction.
Malhotra Group secured 23, Raju Sharma group bagged 18, Charanjeet Singh Bajaj group got 19 and while syndicate managed to capture 5.
