Liquor contractors of Ludhiana Region fined heavily for violating rules related to rates of liquor

Ludhiana, October 10, 2016:The local office Excise and Taxation Department has imposed heavy fines on liquor contractors of Ludhiana Region for allegedly violating the rules related to the rates of liquor.
According to JK Jain, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Ludhiana, they had received complaints about the violation of the set norms by some liquor traders and vends following which fines worth over Rs.24 lakh were imposed on the violators in the month of September.
He told that a total fine of Rs.27 lakhs had so far been imposed on the vend owners found violating the norms during current fiscal (2016-17).
Jain categorically stated that the violators would not be spared at any cost. He asked the vend contractors not to violate the rules of the department. He warned that such activities would continue against the violators in the future also.
