LIC’s Ludhiana Division performing well

Ludhiana, September 1, 2012” On the occasion of completion of 56 glorious years in the service of the nation today by Life Insurance Corporation of India, Rajendra Kumar, Senior Divisional Manager, LIC, Ludhiana has said as a mark of celebrating the anniversary, they had chalked out an extensive programme to reach out to its policy holders.

Addressing a press conference here today, he added during the week starting from today onwards, special Service Counters had been installed in all the offices of the Division.

Seminar, drawing, painting, quiz and essay-writing competitions had been planned in various schools and colleges, he said, adding rallies were being held at Jagraon and Mansa.

He said besides, dental check-up camp for children was being organized. A Cultural Programme would also be organised on September 8.

Asked about Ludhiana Division’s performance, he told that it had performed very well during the financial year ending March 31this year, when 1,56,245 new policies were added with first-premium income of Rs. 137.94 Crores.

As at August 15 this year, the Division had completed 43,738 new policies with first premium income of Rs. 38.10 crore, he revealed. “The claims performance of Ludhiana Division has remained very satisfactory during the year ending March 31 this year”, he said, adding total 96,944 claims of Maturity and Survival Benefits, amounting to Rs. 335.68 crore were settled during the year.

He said similarly 3,602 Death Claims amounting to Rs. 43.09 crore were also settled during this period. “The outstanding SB and Maturity claims as at March 31 this year were nil and 97.74% of the Maturity and SB Claims were settled on or before due date”, he said,. The Outstanding Death Claims as at 31-03-2012 were to the tune of 0.16% only. In the current fiscal, 25,194 Maturity & SB Claims and 929 Death Claims have been settled till 31-07-2012 by the Ludhiana Division.

“We have recently started LIC Customer Zone at Ludhiana to offer personalised services to our policy holders”, he said, adding,” We have also issued Gold Club Cards to the Loyal Customers, which have entitled them to receive priority services from all our offices”. He hoped that Ludhiana Division was poised for achieving greater heights during the current financial year.
