BJP has lost in Himachal Pradesh despite the fact that the chief minister Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal tried to fulfill the commitments that he had made with electorates during elections in 2007.
What I feel is that the existing differences of opinion in the top brass of BJP, infighting and wrong choice of candidates are some of the main reasons behind defeat of BJP in HP.
As per the available information, BJP did not perform well in the Kangra Parliamentary Constituency where once BJP national vice president, Shanta Kumar, MP, had represented.
At present, Shanta Kumar is in-charge of BJP, Punjab Affairs. The party leadership is seriously trying to find out exact reasons for defeat of the party in Himachal Pradesh.
