Jalandhar, April 20, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage and Autonomous institution, Jalandhar's PG Department of Economics organised an extension lecture on the topic "Structural Changes and Indian Economy Role of Service Sector''. Dr kuldeep Kaur Professor and Head, Punjab School of Economics, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar was the expert on the occasion. Addressing the students, she discussed in detail the historical perspective of structural changes in India, which had important bearing on contribution made by each sector and overall development process of the Indian economy. While throwing light on the reasons for the lopsided growth of Indian Economy where services sector has grown rapidly despite any specific policy for it. She highlighted the relevance of Agribusiness economy along with growth of service sector. Faculty and the students also had a very fruitful interactive session with the professor. Prof (Dr) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal kmv, extended her gratitude to the speaker for spending her valuable time and enriching the students and the faculty on complex inter-linkages of Indian Economy. She also congratulated the faculty of Department of Economics for successfully organization of the event.
