Chandigarh, November 15, 2012: In order to facilitate women, the Punjab government has launched Indira Gandhi Matritav Sehyog Yojna in Amritsar and Kapurthala district as a pilot project aiming at the upliftment the health status of women and children.
Disclosing this here toady, Madan Mohan Mittal, Social Security, Women and Child Development, Health & Family Welfare Minister Punjab said that an amount of Rs. 1,118 lac would be spent during the current financial year.
Giving details of the Scheme, the Minister said that under this scheme, the women of 19 years of age or above at the time of first two live births, would be received Rs. 4000 in three installments, subject to the fulfillment of specific condition. Rs. 1500 will be given at the end of 2nd trimester of pregnancy, Rs. 1500 as 2nd installment only at the end of three months of delivery and Rs. 1000 as third installment when the infant completes six months of age. Rs. 200 and 100 would be given to Anganwari worker & helpers.
