Latest edition of annual Punjabi Folk Dance Camp concludes successfully at Lyallpur Khalsa College
Jalandhar, July 8, 2019: The latest edition of the annual Punjabi Folk Dance Camp concluded successfully in the premises of Lyallpur Khalsa College. The camp was conducted from 28th June to 7th July 2019 with the aim of connecting the youth to the rich cultural heritage of Punjab. The camp witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 500 participants from all age groups who were imparted the basics of folk dances on free of cost basis. On the concluding day of the Bhangra Camp, Mr. Daljit Singh Khakh, DSP Hoshiarpur graced the program as chief guest and he was duly welcomed to the college by Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and he also informed the about the tremendous contribution made by the chief guest towards the enhancement of Bhangra folk dance on foreign lands. Dr. Samra also mentioned the folk dance credentials displayed by Mr. Khakh during his student life including winning the best artist recognition for 11 years. Mr. Khakh also displayed some folk dance movements on this occasion. Principal Dr. GS Samra congratulated the entire team of staff members associated with the camp and hoped for a further extension of the number of participants in the next edition. 2 best dancers from each category were honored as ‘Best Dancer’ to conclude the proceedings while Rajbir Malhi and Vijay Dholi were also honored for their efforts along with the distribution of certificates to all the participants.
