DFO APPEALS TO ILLEGAL LAND GRABBERS TO VACATE THE FOREST LAND IMMEDIATELY TO AVOID THE ACTION

LUDHIANA, MAY 18, 2018: In another achievement, Ludhiana Forest Division has successfully removed illegal encroachment from 79-acre in Hadiwal Forest in Mattewara Forest Range within last two days.

Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ludhiana Charanjit Singh along with Pritpal Singh, Range Officer Matterwara and staff of the Mattewara range had earlier removed 108-acre illegal encroachment from Haider Nagar Forest in last month.

DFO added that till now Ludhiana Forest Division has successfully removed following encroachments from forest land that include 147-acre in Kot Umra, 80 Acre in Gorsian Khan Mohammad, 108-acre in Haider Nagar, 65 Acre in Hadiwal and 2 Acre in Salempur.

DFO revealed that on the directions Forests Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and with the help of Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Aggarwal, and SSP Jagraon Surjit Singh had started the removal of illegal encroachments from village Kot Umra and Gorsian Khan Mohammad on November 17, 2017, and had removed illegal encroachments from 227 acre area.

DFO Ludhiana has told that the removal of encroachment from forest land will continue till the removal of last encroachment.

He also told that state government is now actively considering recovering the rent from the illegal grabbers who will not vacate the forest land up to June 30, 2018.

The rent will be recovered as per their entries in Girdawri of the land and for the years in which illegal occupants encroached upon the forest land and it will be taken by adopting the procedure under law, he added.

DFO Ludhiana appealed to the illegal encroachers to vacate themselves the forest land immediately to avoid this action and also to help in the greening district.
