KVK, Moga celebrates awareness programme on plantation in collaboration with IFFCO, Moga
Ludhiana, September 18, 2019: KVK, Moga celebrated awareness programme on plantation in collaboration with IFFCO, Moga. On this occasion, Dr Amandeep Singh Brar, Deputy Director (Trg.), Moga enlightened the farmers about the importance of forest trees in the current scenario. He also highlighted various roles and benefits of trees like pollution control, wind barriers and recharging of ground water. Dr Brar appealed the farmers to conserve natural resources of the state. Dr Amanpreet, Asstt.Prof.(Agronomy) informed the farmers regarding need based and balanced use of chemical fertilizers and irrigation resources. She also stressed upon the soil and water testing. Dr Prerna Thakur, Asstt.Prof.(Vegetable Science) awared the farmers about uses and cultivation practices of fruit and agroforestry trees. A lecture was delivered by Kulwinder Singh, Block Forest Officer, about the nursery availability of forestry trees. Representatives from IFFCO, Moga discussed the various activities undertaken by them for the environment protection. On this occasion, various plants like neem, sheesham, haar shringaar, drek etc were distributed to the farmers of district Moga. The trees were also planted at KVK premises on this occasion.
