A delegation of Knitwear Club meeting Manish Tiwari, Minister for Information and Broadcasting at his residence at Ludhiana on Saturday.
Ludhiana, March 9, 2013: A delegation of Knitwear Club met Manish Tiwari, Minister for Information and Broadcasting at his residence here on Saturday to extend thanks to him for supporting the industry in withdrawing the excise duty on branded garments in the Union Budget for next fiscal.
They said this could have been possible only with an initiative taken by the District Congress Committee, Ludhiana.
They said knitwear industry had got success in getting rollback the excise duty and moreover with the imposition of countervailing duty on import from Bangladesh has also given a sigh of relief to the industry. They believed that it will prove a milestone for the knitwear/ textile industry.
Among others, DCC (U) president Pawan Dewan and Surinder Dawar (MLA) were present.
