KMV ORGANIZES  WEEK  LONG ACTIVITY TO MARK INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
Jalandhar, June 21, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has been organizing Yoga workshops regularly for the students from time to time. KMV believes in preserving the age-tested ever-useful traditions and cultural heritage of India and Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. Kanya Maha Vidyalaya - the Heritage & Autonomous Institution , Jalandhar organized week long activity on Yoga from June 14-21, 2019 for the celebration of 5th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 21st June, 2019. Throughout the week , the students were motivated and persuaded to adopt yoga as a part of their day to day routine to encourage their physical well-being. The Group yoga demonstrations based on Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) were held, which consisted of an hour long practice of relatively simple yoga drills. On June 21 the International Yoga Day was celebrated at KMV in collaboration with Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Mahila Patanjali Yog Samiti. The session began with a prayer for international ‘Harmony and Peace’. It was followed by various asanas including Sadilaya, trunk movements, knee movements, Yogasanas like Tadasana, Vkrasana, Padam Aasana , Kapalbhati and Pranayams like Anulome Vilome Pranayama etc. Along with this the students were also encouraged to adopt meditation and healthy eating habits in their life. The qualified yoga trainers guided the students and faculty about the worth of physical fitness and active approach in the era of hectic and complicated life schedule. Dr Madhumeet , Dean Student Welfare, Dr. (Mrs.) Neeraj Sharma, Mrs Ashima Sahni, Co-ordinator NSS, Dr Sonik Bhatia , Mrs Anand Prabha were applauded and appreciated by Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal KMV for their active participation in the event. Also present on the occasion were Mr R.K. Shingari, Mrs Seema Shingari, Mrs Uma Sharma, Ramesh Aggarwal, Sewarati and Pushpaji.
