Jalandhar, August 9, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized Saraswati Pooja in its traditional fervor.

The Chief Guest, Avinash Rai Khanna, Member Parliament, Vice President of Bharatiya Janta Party was accorded felicitations with tiny saplings on this occasion. The proceedings of the function were flagged off with an invocation to Maa Saraswati, the Goddess of learning to seek her blessings for the new entrants in the new session.

The college Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, welcoming the guests, read out a detailed report of the college achievements in diverse fields-curricular, co-curricular activities and sports at national as well as international level. She shared with immense pride that KMV with its lead role has taken a stride on the path of excellence with its Autonomous Status. Supported by Fist grant and also the grant of M.Voc Courses to KMV’s DDU Kaushal Kendra makes KMV a name to reckon with in the entire region. Top National Rankings by India Today Magazine awarded to KMV in Best Value for Money Category in various streams are a testimony to the excellent standards of education being imparted.

Welcoming the eminent guests, Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal averred that education at KMV aims at inculcating self confidence and ability in its scholars to overcome the challenges of future life. The occasion also witnessed two releases- ECA Newsletter ''Youth Pulse" by Department of Extra Curricular Activities and Annual Journal of Empirical Research by PG Department of Commerce. Faculty members were also honored for their research, national & international publications, paper presentations and for the enhancement of their educational qualification.

The Chief Guest, Avinash Rai Khanna eulogized the college for keeping up the age-old tradition of welcoming new scholars with all its sanctity. He also stressed upon broadening the educational base of students with an all-inclusive approach and linking it up with a social cause. Urging upon the need of maintaining five student groups, Sh. Khanna with his simple and illustrative way elicited students' response to work in the direction of Save Water, Save Electricity, Drug de-addiction etc.

A formal vote of thanks was accorded by Alok Sondhi, General Secretary, KMV Managing Committee. He expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble members of KMV Managing Committee Dr. Satpal Gupta, Sushila Bhagat and other eminent guests for their valuable presence.
