KMV ORGANIZES GOPHER 2019 – AMALGAMATION OF TECHNOLOGY & FUN

Jalandhar, April 8, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar's PG Dept. of Computer Science & Applications organized Gopher 2019. The fest consisted of various events which witnessed a huge participation from the students of the various departments. About 160 students participated in this intra department fest having 8 events. Six events were witnessed in the KMV auditorium and the remaining two were carried out in the I.T. Block and the college campus. The first event was Net Savvy which judged the technical & surfing capabilities of the students. Pawandeep Kaur of M.Sc. CS Sem. IV bagged the Ist position, followed by Jasleen of BCA Sem. IV. The second event was Logo Design which was also held in the Animation Lab. In this event also the participation was massive and the students clearly were successful in showing their creative and designing skills. Arundhati Sharma of B.Voc. Animation Sem. II bagged the Ist position, Vani Aggarwal of M.Voc. Animation & VFX Sem. II, bagged IInd position. Shivani of B.Voc. Animation Sem. II achieved IIIrd position. Tickle Your Imagination or Rangoli, the third event of the day was executed outside the auditorium. This vibrant event witnessed an active participation where Yogita and Gurleen Kaur of BCA Sem. IV achieved the Ist position, Bhanu and Harinder Kaur of B.Sc. IT Sem. IV bagged the IInd position, Ashminder Kaur and Komalpreet Kaur of B.Sc. Eco Sem. VI achieved IIIrd position. The fourth event was Power to Present in which Richa and Charu of BCA Sem. IV bagged the Ist position with their topic Social Media and Mental Health, whereas Amandeep Kaur and Pritika were IInd. The fifth event was Replica or Fancy Dress which enthralled the audience completely. Komalpreet Kaur of BCA Sem. II bagged the Ist position and Shilpa of BCA Sem. II was IInd in this round. The sixth event was Solitary Ace or Solo Dance. This was an apt amalgamation of entertainment, fun and talent. Manpreet Kaur of B.Sc. Eco. Sem. VI was Ist and the IInd position went to Arundhati of B.Voc. Animation Sem. IV. The seventh event was Witty Teasers or Ad Mad Show which occurred in the college Auditorium. In this the teams were allotted a theme to act upon and advertise. Team WT02 won this event with their theme of Smart Phone and it consisted of Shilpa, Simranpreet Kaur, Harleen Kaur, Komalpreet Kaur, Navkiranpreet Kaur and Gaurvi of BCA Sem. II. The eighth and the last event was Groove It Up or Group Dance. This event witnessed the maximum response be it be in the form of participation or enjoyment and fun. Team G5 bagged the Ist position, followed by Team G1. G5 comprised of Amanpreet Kaur, Gurneet Kaur, Disha and Simran Kaur of B.Sc.IT Sem. VI. G1, the IInd position holder consisted of Sukhraj Kaur and Jaswant Kaur of B.Voc. Animation Sem. IV. Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the PG Dept. of Computer Science & Applications for their efficient team work, the flawless coordination of events and a remarkable and memorable function. She averred that the event was indeed a great platform for the participants to showcase their talents and also for the audience to learn a lot. She further maintained that these types of activities induce in everyone a freshness to strive better to success in their respective lives.
