KMV organises an Exhibition-cum-Sale

Jalandhar, May 14, 2015: An exhibition-cum-sale was organised by Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar’s Gandhian Studies Centre. It was inaugurated by Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal, KMV. The dresses were made by the girls who were doing fashion designing course under the aegis of Gandhian Studies Centre. It is worth a mention here that the centre has been providing free vocational training courses in fashion designing, cosmetology and basic computers for the girls of the economically weak sections of the society since its establishment 2007. These comprise girls who did not have any formal education and are not the students of KMV. Dr. Atima Sharma, Principal, KMV congratulated the girls and promised them assistance in establishing themselves in future. Keeping in tune with the tradition of the centre Principal KMV honoured two old students who after obtaining training in the centre have been employed in training centre in Lamba Pind as instructors. She landed the Gandhian Studies Centre’s Director Dr. Monica Sharma and Harvinder the trainer for their efforts in empowering these girls, a vision shared by her.
