KMV Organises Brainstorm-2019; More than 250 students participate in event
Jalandhar, February 27, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar has been ceaselessly endeavoring for the holistic development of the students. With this mission in mind, Post Graduate Department of Commerce & Business Administration of KMV organized BRAINSTORM 2019. The Chief Guest for this event was Sh.Chander Mohan ji, President Arya Shiksha Mandal and Chairman, KMV Managing Committee. After paying tribute to the martyrs of Pulwama attack and appreciating the bold endeavors of our Army and Indian Air Force, the chief guest lauded the efforts of Dr Neeraj Maini and her team in taking initiative in organizing such events which provide a platform to the students to showcase their talent and creativity besides getting practical exposure. He also emphasized on the importance of Commerce in today's scenario.
Thereafter, Principal, Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Commerce Department for starting the CA Foundation Classes on the college campus and for having industrial tie-ups with leading Banking and Capital market bodies. The event had seven competitions which were carried out throughout the day. The first event was choreography followed by Ad Mad Show, Group Discussion, Business Plan, Business Tycoons, Poster Making and Model making. There was an overwhelming response from the 14 colleges from Jalandhar and outside the city and more than 250 students participated in the various activities during the event. It was overall an action packed day for the young participants who were thrilled and enthusiastic about a chance to exhibit their talent.
Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration for providing a platform to the students to evaluate & celebrate their talents & skills. She averred that to face the fast ever changing world and tough competition, the exchange & network of knowledge was the need of the hour for a holistic development. Such events involving healthy exposure prepares the youth for future career options.
The results of the competitions are as under:
1. Choreography- 1st Prize SD Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Pathankot, 2nd Prize Doaba College, Jalandhar and 3rd Prize PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar.
2. Ad Mad Show - 1st Prize KMV, Jalandhar, 2nd Prize Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar and 3rd Prize St. Soldier College, Jalandhar.
3. Group Discussion- 1st Prize of Best Speaker is Gehna Kundra from Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, 2nd prize of best speaker is Garima Kalia from KMV Jalandhar and 3rd Prize of Best Speaker is Simarjit Kaur from DAV College, Jalandhar. Amanjot Kaur from KMV Jalandhar was declared Best Moderator in Group Discussion.
4. Business Plan- 1st Prize Simrandeep Kaur KMV Jalandhar, 2nd Prize Harshita from Apeejay College of Fine Arts and 3rd Prize Navdish Gambhir from DAV College. Jalandhar.
5. Poster making- 1st Prize Harsharanjit Singh from Mata Gujri Khalsa College, Kartarpur, 2nd Prize Shivani from KMV, Jalandhar, 3rd Prize Kritika from PCMSD College, Jalandhar.
6. Business Tycoons- 1st Prize Tanisha from SD KMV, Pathankot, 2nd Prize Birkiran KMV, Jalandhar and 3rd Prize Sumanjeet Kaur from Hindu Kanya College, Kapurthala.
7. Model Making- 1st Prize Manjot Kaur from KMV Jalandhar, 2nd Prize Sherry from Apeejay College, Jalandhar and 3rd Prize Sheetal from SD KMV, Pathankot and Karamjeet Kaur from KMV Jalandhar.
Over all Trophy was bagged by KMV, Jalandhar.
