Jalandhar, January 30, 2015: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar’s Gandhian Study Centre paid tribute to Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his 66th Death Anniversary.
The programme began with Gandhi’s favourite bhajan “Vaishnav Jan to Teneh Khaiye’ and views expressed by students of Gandhian Study Centre about the teachings of the Mahatma. 50 girls enrolled in the centre are receiving vocational training in the fields of computer science, fashion designing and cosmetology.
The Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi in her address said that Kanya Maha Vidyalaya committed to women empowerment is making these girls financially self-relient to uphold the basic concept of human dignity preached by Gandhi ji throught light for abolition of untouchability, class- distinction, casterism and practice of non-violence. The solemn occasion concluded with another soulful rendering of bhajan ‘Itni Shakti hame Dena Data’.
Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma applauded Director Gnadhian Study Centre Dr. Monica Sharma for organising the event.
