Jalandhar, October 5, 2012: Hindu organisations strongly condemned the killing of a cow in the area of Chhoti Baradari here.
The cow was found in a butchered condition lying in the abandoned area in Chhoti Baradari infront of the Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital at Garha road. All the four legs and mouth of the cow were found tied with a plastic rope with a long cut right from the mouth to the abdomen.
RSS leaders and activists of Dharam Jagran Manch were the first who reached the spot in the morning after information about slaughtering of the cow spread like a wild fire in the city.
Balwinder Singh, SHO, Police Station Division No. 7 also rushed to the spot. The police have registered a case under Prevention of Cruelty on Animals Act against one person named Peter whose whereabouts are not known to any person including the police.
