Chandigarh, May 30, 2017: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today said that the public slaughter of an ox in Kerala by the leaders of Congress and the subsequent beef party would prove to be the last nail in the coffin of Congress.
BJP National Secretary Tarun Chugh today said that the Congress, which at one time fought elections on the symbol of Cow and Calf has hurt the Hindu sentiments beyond repair.
Dismissing Rahul Gandhi's statement as just an eyewash, Chugh said.
He said with the horrific incident, the Congress has not once again proved that it believes in appeasement of the minority community for vote bank but also committed a sin which could not be tolerated any cost.
Chugh said the Congress tried to hoodwink people of the country by claiming the incident was not related to party in any way but Rahul was forced to admit the guilt when Kerala Congress leader Rijil Makkuty's photographs with the Congress vice-president went viral on the social media.
The BJP leader questioned the silence of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and said that the Gandhi family which had raised a huge hue and cry over the attack on a horse 'Shaktiman' in Uttarakhand was maintaining a discreet silence in this case even as it knew that sentiments of crores of Hindus have been hurt
Chugh asked Congress leaders as to how low it could stoop just to garner votes of a section of people. He said that the Hindu community was united on the issue and would fight it out, come what may.
