Karan Avtar Singh takes over as new Chief Secretary; 12 IAS officers transferred

Chandigarh, March 16, 2017: The Punjab Government today transferred 12 IAS officers with immediate effect.

Disclosing this, an official spokesman said that Mr.Karan Avtar Singh has been appointed as Chief Secretary and in addition Principal Secretary Department of Personnel, General Administration and Vigilance and Principal Secretary Investment Promotion. He assumed charge as Chief Secretary today itself

The spokesman further said that Mr.Sarvesh Kaushal has been posted as Special Chief Secretary-cum-Director General, Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration. The spokesman also divulged that Mr.Himmat Singh has been posted as Special Chief Secretary, Horticulture and in addition Special Principal Secretary, Forests & Wild life, Mr.Karanbir Singh Sidhu has been posted as Special Chief Secretary, Revenue and Rehabilitation and in addition Special Chief Secretary, Irrigation, Mr. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Home Affairs & Justice and in addition Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture, Additional Chief Secretary, Removal of Grievances, Principal Resident Commissioner (Investment Promotion & Industrial Liaison) Punjab Bhawan New Delhi and Additional Chief Secretary Governance Reforms.

The spokesman also elaborated that Mr. Satish Chandra has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary Finance and in addition Additional Chief Secretary Pensions and Welfare of Pensioners wing, Principal Resident Commissioner, Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi and Additional Chief Secretary Co-operation. Similarly, Mr. S.K. Sandhu has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary Social Security and Development of Women & Children while Mr. Anurag Agarwal has been posted as Financial Commissioner, Taxation. While Mrs. Raji P. Shrivastava has been posted as Director, Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, Mr. Tejveer Singh has been posted as Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and in addition Secretary, Information and Public Relations and Secretary, Civil Aviation. Similarly, Mr. Vivek Pratap Singh has been posted as Excise and Taxation Commissioner while Mr. Krishan Kumar has been posted as Secretary, Expenditure (Department of Finance) and in addition Secretary, Personnel.
