Jyani hands over appointment letters to 776 Staff Nurses

Punjab Health Minister Surjit Kumar Jayani on Thursday handing over appointment letters to the newly recruited 776 staff nurses.

 

Chandigarh, December 11, 2014: Punjab Health Minister Surjit Kumar Jayani today asked the doctors and para-medical staff posted in hospitals, Community Health Centers, Primary Health Centers, dispensaries  to treat patients with ‘dignity, kindness and respect’ to build up positive image of public healthcare system.  
Jyani accompanied by Secretary Health and MD Punjab Health System Corporation and National Health Mission in State Husan Lal was addressing the newly recruited 776 staff nurses after handing over appointment letters to them. He said that medical profession was the most novel profession on the earth and they were fortunate that Almighty has given them an opportunity to serve the suffering humanity. He said that doctor, nurses and para medical professionals in the health sector were agents of God, who were instrumental in mitigating the pain and suffering of people.
Giving a call to newly recruited staff to work with full zeal and commitment, Jyani said they could save numerous lives by delivering their duties with dedication and devotion. He said patients must be treated with respect and kindness to further bring improvement in the image of government healthcare system. The Minister said that out of these 776 nurses 186 would deliver their services in Urban Health Mission, 258 in National Child Health Programme, 319 for Rural Health and 13 for Mobile Medial Units to provide better health services across the state.
Addressing the gathering of newly recruited staff, Husan Lal said doctors and staff nurses are the major organs of hospitals and they should ensure the execution of efficient health services to facilitate patients. He said they should properly diagnose the patients. He said the department has been started recruitment drive on large scale to curtail the scarcity of staff in government hospitals. He  also lauded the doctors and health staff for institutional deliveries as Punjab has witnessed more than 2 lakh deliveries as compare to previous 5 years figures.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Director Health Dr. Karanjit Singh, Director Health and Family Welfare Dr. Jatinder Kaur, Director National Health Mission Dr. Shashi Kant and other senior officers of the department.
