Jalandhar, November 28, 2012: Paramjit Singh Pinta has been declared un-opposed winner for the post of Junior Vice President of the Jalandhar Gymkhana Clubon on Tuesday, after stipulated time of withdrawal, the other two candidates Hardeep Oberoi and Dheeraj Seth have withdrawn their candidature from the post of Junior Vice President.
This was disclosed by the returning officer Iqbal Singh Sandhu, S.D.M, Jalandhar here today. He said," After withdrawal for the post of Joint Secretary, Secretary and Treasurer, there are two candidates for each post are in fray whereas 15 candidates are contesting for the posts of Executive Members of the Club."
He said the Club will remain closed on November 30, December 1 and 2, 2012, However, the sports activities are allowed during these days, except on December 2 on the day of polling.
Those electors/members whose photo is missing on the Jalandhar Gymkhana Club's directory, must bring their parallel ID (Identification Proof) to cast their vote. Otherwise they shall not be allowed to cast vote.
The other electors/members have also advised to carry their parallel ID (Identification Proof) on the day of polling as there may be an objection/dispute regarding the identification of any elector by the candidates.
The post wise detail of contesting candidates are as under:
Junior VP-
Paramjit Singh (Pinta)-
Declared un-opposed winner as other candidates i.e. Hardeep Oberoi and Dheeral Seth have withdrawn their Candidature.
Jt. Secretary-
Gulshan Kumar Sharma and Tarun Sikka.
Hony. Secretary-
Daljit Singh Chhabra and Satish Thakur Gora.
Treasurer-
Amrik Singh Ghai and Narinder Singh Shergill.
Executive Committee-
Amit Kukreja, Arvinder Kaur, Dheeraj Seth, Gurpreet S.
