Judo Players of PCM S.D. College for Women bring laurels to institution

Jalandhar, December 21, 2018: Judo Players of our college participated in the District Judo Championship 2018-19 conducted at Government Senior Model School, Ladowali Road, Jalandhar. In this competition players participated in different weight categories and won medals by bagging an overall second position as a team. Nancy got two medals in the Junior and Senior (48kg) weight category. Kajal received two medals one bronze in cadet and one silver in senior (52 kg) weight category. Divya (44kg) Bhawna (48kg) and Kiran in open weight category got silver medals. Sapna (48kg) and Kavita (57kg) got bronze medals in their respective weight categories. Apart from inculcating a healthy team spirit among players, the sport was instrumental in accentuating the usefulness of martial arts for girls in providing them a sense of security and at the same time in infusing self-confidence in them. Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Kiran Arora congratulated the Judo team and their coach. Mr. Aavni Kumar Sharma for these achievements.
