JUDGMENT: 2 years RI to then assistant secretary (education) of UT Daman & Diu

Jalandhar, January 8, 2013: The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Daman has convicted  M. R. Trivedi, the then Assistant Secretary (Education) of Union Territory (UT) Daman & Diu, in a disproportionate assets case and sentenced him to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with total fine of Rs. 10,000.

CBI had registered a case against M. R. Trivedi, Assistant Secretary (Education) in the Administration of Union Territory (UT) Daman & Diu, U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1) (e) of PC Act, 1988 on the allegation that he amassed huge assets to the tune of about Rs. 19.69 lacs disproportionate to his known sources of income.

After thorough investigation, charge sheet was filed on May 30, 2005 in the Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Daman against M. R. Trivedi.
