Jalandhar, December 27, 2012: The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Chennai convicted  Dilip Singh Bhonsle, an official of Archaeological Survey of India in a disproportionate assets case and sentenced him to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with total fine of Rs.30,000.

A case was registered on 30.05.2007 against V Dilip Singh Bhonsle, Conversion Assistant Grade-II, Archaeological survey of India, Mamalapuram Sub Circle, Kancheepuram District on the allegation that during the period 2000–2007, he had acquired assets disproportionate to his known source of income.  It was established in the investigation that during the check period i.e. during 2000- 2007, V Dilip Singh Bhonsle had acquired disproportionate assets to the tune of about Rs.24.87 lakh. After the investigation of the case, CBI filed charge sheet against the accused U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988.
