ON JANUARY 27: NRI Sabha election

Jalandhhar, January 1, 2013, 2012: The Punjab NRI Sabha has decided to conduct its election on January 27.
The results will be declared on the same day.
Anurag Verma, Chairman of the NRI Sabha informed that as per programme, the nomination papers can be filed on January 16-17. Scrutiny of papers will be held on January 18.
Only the Non Resident Indians (NRI) members will be able to exercise their franchise.
Nominated members will not the entitled to vote for NRI Sabha election this year.
The final voters’ list updated upto December 31 last will be available on the NRI Website.
At present there are about 18,000 voters.
With the new membership, this number is likely to touch 19,000.
Kanwaljit Singh Hayer, Pritam Singh Narangpur and Jasbir Singh Shergill are likely to contest for election of the  President of the NRI Sabha.
