Jalandhar, August 2, 2015: Ivy World School, Jalandhar in its commitment to keep its educators abreast with the best practices in the field of education organized a two day training program for the teachers. The training program was organized in association with Expressions India (a CBSE Empaneled Agency) which is a school based outreach program for promotion of Life Skills, Values Education, School Health and Well-being. The workshop was addressed by a renowned trainer Ms. Geetanjali Kumar who is working as a Senior Counselling Psychologist and a National Trainer for students and teachers for the last fifteen years.
The workshop started with a learning objective of equipping the educators with the Co-Scholastic Aspects of CCE. It provided a broad framework to the educators that can be used as a tool to explain concepts, encourage curiosity and promote experiential learning in the young learners. To facilitate learning the need for a friendly classroom environment along with providing opportunities for students to express themselves was stressed upon. The need to prioritize Value Education in the curriculum which will not only help in the holistic development of the child but also inculcate the understanding of Interdependence between family, society, nation and the world was dwelt upon. In the end, importance of value education along with a student centered approach was stressed upon with the help of engaging activities.
