Issues concerning state to be raised with PM: Badal

Guruwali (Amritsar)/Chandigarh, December 11, 2014: Terming that the proposed Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Amritsar was just a pie in the robust share in offing, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that the NDA government at the centre would soon allocate more such big ticket projects for the state.
Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan program of the Attari assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that in less than six months of its tenure the NDA government has allocated a prestigious project like IIM to Punjab, which would give further impetus to the education system in the state. He said that many more such projects were in pipeline that would put the state in the orbit of high growth trajectory. Badal further said that the state government was already searching suitable land for the construction of IIM in Amritsar so that the work on it could be started soon.
Reiterating the commitment of the state government to ensure the overall development of Punjab, the Chief Minister said that they were duty bound to take every issue concerned with the state and its people with the Union government. Badal said that he had already met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for safeguarding the interests of the state and this practice would be continued in the future also. “We will meet the PM whenever required so that as to give boost to the overall development of the state” he added.  
Replying to another query, the Chief Minister reiterated that the SAD-BJP alliance would contest the ensuing assembly elections in Delhi together. He said that both the alliance partners have an everlasting relationship, which has always stood the test of time. Badal said that the seat sharing arrangements for these polls was hardly an issue and would be soon finalised by both the alliance partners.
When asked to comment on the statement of PPP leader Manpreet Singh Badal that the state was heading towards mid-term polls, the Chief Minister, while rubbishing it, said that it was nothing more than a ‘figment of imagination’ of the former Finance Minister. He said that Manpreet Singh Badal was least aware about the political scenario of the state. “Our government will continue to serve the people by completing its full tenure” added Badal.
Addressing the gatherings during the Sangat Darshan in village Guruwali, Bohru, Baasarke and Bhakna the Chief Minister said that Sangat Darshan was the flagship program of his government, which was aimed at mitigating the woes of the people by bringing all the organs of the state government on a single platform. He said that this program has proved to be a boon for the residents of the state as it has helped in solving their problems within few minutes. Badal further said that Punjab was the only state which has successfully carried on this pro-people program from last several years.  
The Chief Minister further said that the state government was fully committed to provide best civic amenities to the people both in the urban and rural areas. Badal asked the people to prioritize the development works in their villages to ensure optimum utilization of tax payer’s money on one hand and giving fillip to the development of the state on the other. He said that the state government would leave no stone unturned for the development of villages by providing them ultra modern civic amenities at par with the urban areas.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Cabinet Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike, his Special Principal Secretary Ajoy Sharma, Deputy Inspector General of Police AK Mittal and Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat.
