Simran Parneenja as Gunjan in Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein.

Starting from 15th July, Mon-Fri 8:00 PM only on Sony Entertainment Television

Q1.You have been seen in varied daily soaps. How different is this character going to be?

Ans) My role in Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein is vastly different from the ones that I have portrayed in my previous shows and movies. I am really looking forward to bring alive my character 'Gunjan' on screen, who is of an introvert personality and obedient to her parents. Gunjan is a sweet everyday girl who lives in the same society as Yogi and how their story pans out will be something the viewers will like watching. The concept of the show is also unique in its own way and has never been explored on television before. Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein is a love story of a hearing impaired guy Yogi. I hope the character of Gunjan will make its way in the heart of audiences. Also I am confident that 'Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein' will be a great family entertainer.

Q2. What made you take this character of Gunjan?

Ans) when the character was described to me, I instantly found a lot of similarities between Gunjan and myself. Gunjan, is someone who usually keeps herself busy and tends to mind her own business. She enjoys being by herself and is happy in the world she has created. She believes and follows the values embedded by her family and leaves all the decision-making to her parents. Similarly, I am also a little introvert in real life and don’t always like to express or share my views in the open. Listening to how Gunjan would pan out further in the show, my inclination towards taking the role grew even more. Hence, I was even more confident to take up this character as I knew I could do justice to it. Also, doing something out of the box is tough but at the same time as an actor, it is necessary to challenge yourself and learn as much as you can and push your boundaries.

Q3. You will be seen in a different character? Any special preparations you are doing for the same?

Ans) I consider myself lucky for being a part of Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein and feel that more shows like this should be telecasted on television. It is going to be a roller coaster ride for me to prepare ourselves for the show. Considering Yogi is a hearing impaired personality and interacts in sign language, it is necessary for me as well to get my gestures in place. To incorporate the same, there are many aspects with which we have to work around every day. To get the basics in place, I have been catching up on a lot of movies and interacting with cast members in sign language in order to ensure we understand. Though it is challenging, it is not an impossible task and with time, I am sure to excel and bring out the communication effectively.

Q4. You are coming on TV screens after almost 2 years? How does it feel to be back to the daily drama shows?

Ans) Coming back on TV after 2 years feels great. Even though I was exploring the Tollywood industry, I never left television and that is the medium from where my on screen career took off. Somewhere, I missed those 12-hour shifts while I was working in Tollywood. When Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein came to me, the concept was really catchy and it was something I had never explored. It also took me back to my initial days of shooting as, the place where we shot the first promo of Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein, happened to be the very same place where I shot my first ever promo for a previous show. I am ready to give my best as shows like this are one-of-a-kind and being a part of it I feel overwhelmed.

Q5. You have been part of a few Telugu movies as a lead? What do you like better between TV and movies?

Honestly, I like both. The problem with the movies is that I can’t stay without my family so staying in Hyderabad or hotels was tough. I am a complete Punjabi and speaking South Indian language was also tough for me, but I did enjoy the process of film making. Though if I must choose between the two, I would choose television as I would be able to live with my parents and take care of them and spend time with them every day after the shoot. In this show, we are getting the full creative ability to show our acting skills to the fullest which is very rare in television.

Q6. Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein has a huge cast. How does it feel to be part of such a big happy family?

When I heard of the size of the cast and the actors with whom I would get to work, it was an exciting feeling to be in the same frame as the experienced actors. Working with Mudit Nayar, Swati Shah, Kiran Karmarkar, Sudhir Pandey, Sulbha Arya and others is going to be a great learning experience. Considering artists like Sudhir Ji, Swati Shah, Sulbha Ji and Kiran Sir are veterans in the field, I am going to take in as much learning as I can and will incorporate them in my scenes. In between shoot breaks, all of us sit together and share our experiences which not only helps us grow but also gives us many lessons about life. We also have small fun moments, where Mudit keeps playing pranks on all. I feel fortunate to be a part of such a happy family.

Q7 It is a comedy show. How good is your comic timing?

It's not a comedy show, rather a humorous take on life. My character is not inclined towards the humor side, but my character also gets to do masti with, Yogi. I am getting better with pranks because Debattama who is playing the role of Pari and Mudit who is playing the role of Yogi are notorious and they are always paying pranks on someone on the other on the sets.
