Ferozepur, September 5, 2014: Following the instructions from the Centre Government to boost usage of Internet in rural areas under Universal Service Obligation Fund Scheme (USOFS), a meeting was convened by DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur.

Kharbanda said that to attach more and more people from rural area with global world through internet, Government of India will launch small kiosk (Cyber Café) in which people could get access to internet @ Rs.5 Per Hour only so that the youth belonging to the remote and rural areas could expand their horizon. He said that the administration will also keep an eye on the kiosk controller to avoid any misuse of internet.

Mandeep singh, Joint Controller, Communication Accounts said that already 2014 such kiosk are functioning in the state and 241 kiosk in the five districts of Ferozepur circle i.e. Ferozepur, Moga, Faridkot, Muktsar and Fazilka. The Deputy Commissioners of all these districts also marked their presence on this occasion.
