Ludhiana, August 30, 2012: ICM is bringing Punjab’s Biggest International Travel and Tourism Exhibition, India Travel Mart (ITM) back to Ludhiana for Winter Dusshera/ Diwali/ X’mas/ New Year Vacations, Business Trips, Honeymooners and Weekend/Long Break Family Holidays/Vacations.

The India Travel Mart is going to be held on September 1-3 at Hotel Le Baron here.

Addressing a press conference here today, Ajay Gupta, Managing Director, ITM apprised about the importance of promoting tourism in the Tier II cities and tourism being the booming sector in the Indian economy. “We believe that the inflow of domestic and outbound tourists will increase in coming months from North India’s 2 tier cities and Ludhiana  will play a vital role in promotion of Tourism”, he said. He added that the time of ITM Ludhiana was perfect for round-the-year travel, vacations and business plans.

Adding, Gupta said the exhibition would not only beneficial for the residents of Ludhiana but also people from nearby cities such as Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, nearby cities and states.

He told that Malaysia and Mauritius were the partner country and Gujarat and Maharashtra were the partner states of the mega exhibition. The event was supported by ITFT Education Group and North India Management Association (NIMA).

He added, “With the upcoming peak festive season in mind and to spur Ludhiana people to take the plunge, most of the participants have on offer specially prepared packages and the best deals and options, unavailable otherwise.”

He further added that “After browsing through hundreds of exciting options, the visitors at ITM can have a face-to-face interaction with tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers and other travel service provider’s together providing information and make instant bookings in a hassle-free manner.”

Gupta said that a traveler today wanted to diversify one’s travel in such a way that one could make the best of it. The main highlights would be pilgrimage tourism, adventure tourism, eco tourism, health tourism and wildlife tourism, he added.

He revealed that entry was free and open to all during the three days of exhibition. The timings of the exhibition were between 11 am to 7 pm, he said.
