If we put our mind to it, we will achievement. We have that determination she said.

Working out is not the solution. Eating right contributes 70 per cent for weight management and workout only contributes 30 per cent she said. So you better understand this balance, she said. Welcoming the gathering earlier, YFLO Chairperson, Samia Alam Khan said: “we live in a world today that is tremendously busy and extremely ambitious. Our life and career goal posts have aspired to break through glass ceilings. We do know the importance of good health”.

Yet we live so out of balance that our overall wellbeing and long term health is suffering. We do not pause for a second to listen to our own bodies and what it is trying to say. We see quick fixes in diets and sudden bursts in the gym. We mistake weight loss as staying healthy. We are a generation that is the most informed but not necessarily the most insightful. We all understand the importance of health in our lives, but struggle to implement a healthy lifestyle. That is sad truth... she added

Speaking further Samia said “the healthy living is the outcome of a healthy body that talks to a healthy mind and healthy soul. It is true that the greatest gift you can give your career, your family, your friends, your colleagues and the world is a healthy you”.

“Your body hears everything that your mind says”. Which means if your mind is not healthy, then your body most definitely won’t be. And this forms the core agenda this afternoon. What does it take to lead a healthy way of life, to develop and follow a fitness routine that works for your body and soul, Samia Alam Khan added

And to help us uncover and understand the healthy way of life, we have with us, two extremely successful, beautiful, inspirational women; our guests of honor for the evening, Shilpa Shetty Kundra in conversation with our very own Pinky Reddy, Samia announced

During this conversation, Shilpa will share her experiences and expert insights on the various aspects of healthy living like exercise regimen, nutrition and diets and ways to develop a holistic approach towards living. Our special guests will also touch upon various interesting aspects and insights mentioned in ‘The great Indian diet’, a wonderfully insightful book co-authored by ShilpaShetty and Luke Coutinho, Samia stated.

Samia gave brief outline of an initiative “PRANA’”, an ambitious initiative aimed at mobilizing resources for the wellbeing of underprivileged children by providing them basic health care to difficult surgeries free of cost.

This initiative was launched recently in partnership with Dr. VRK Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. We had a team of 25 Doctors across various specializations for conducting a health camp in 3 government schools, supported by FLO. A total number of over 800 children were checked and were administered with vitamin, calcium and general medication as per their diagnosis.
