Jalandhar, July 22, 2016: CT Group of Institutions host Interaction Session of Coding Challenge “TCS Code Vita” Season V organised by I K Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) at Shahpur Campus on Friday.
Er. Navdeepak Sandhu, Deputy Director (Corporate Relations & Alumni) I K Gujral PTU) told that University is organising Code Vita Interactive Sessions in its 10 affiliated colleges. Target is to make the students aware about this context & get them registered so that they can have exposure of this global competition, Sandhu added.
The students eligible for the context were B.Tech/M.Tech (All Branches), Computer Application Department. In the interaction session Ms. Anubha and Ms. Sandra (TCS Official) described about the different phases of Code Vita and then completed the talk with question and answer for the contest.
She said, “We are in era of User Generated Content (UGC). Data and technology is created at pace never experienced before. To harness the power of vast data and new technologies skilled manpower is required. Programming skills are the foundation to a fruitful career in these fields.
Explaining about the structure of the contest, Ms. Anubha and Ms. Sandra (TCS official) said, “CodeVita is a team contest. A team must have 2 members. The contest will comprise of 3 rounds of coding. To participate in Code Vita, one needs to register the team. Both members of the team will need to register individually. The registration portal will provide necessary workflows to form the team online. Only a valid team can participate in the contest.”
They informed that the registration windows have opened up in India till 26th July 2016. To help contestants warm up for the contest, two Practice rounds are also open to participants who have registered for the contest. After the interaction session approx. 500 students registered online for the contest.
S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) and Dr. P.S. Bedi (Director Campus, CT Institutions) thanked the team of TCS Code Vita for taking such wonderful initiative by organizing such competitions of great value. S. Channi said, “This competition will provide students an opportunity to showcase their programming talent and earn peer recognition and honour. It provides an opportunity to showcase offerings of TCS to the academic world and they can also win wonderful prizes.”
