Interaction with Justice of Peace, New Zealand
Chandigarh, February 8, 2019: The University Institute of Legal Studies(UILS), Panjab University(PU), Chandigarh, organized an interactive session for the students with Mr.Rupinder Virk, one of the youngest Justice of Peace(JPs) in New Zealand, here today. The students of the department gave various performances personifying various real as well as fictional characters. Mr.Virk in his address informed about his contributions to the society in New Zealand and his achievements. The audience were also shown a music video featuring Mr.Virk. The esteemed guest then interacted with the audience and motivated them to work hard towards achieving their dreams and not to get disheartened on not being able to do so. Mr.Virk is an Indo-Kiwi living in New Zealand and is a Punjabi by descent. Interested in fashion from a young age, he has done various modelling assignments as well as acted in various movies, music videos, short films and documentaries. He is a professional badminton player and has represented Waikato region in World Masters Games in New Zealand in 2017. Along with a full time career as a Work, Health, Safety and Environment (WHSE) Advisor, he spends a lot of time in doing community work. The performing students were then given special commendation for their performances and the co-ordinators Dr. Sasha and Dr. Chanchal Narang presented mementos to the esteemed guest.
