Mechanical Engineering Students of CT Polytechnic College designed the project with the use of sensors, manipulators and executors to curb the issues of Road accidents.
Jalandhar, May 17, 2017: It’s no secret that heavy-duty vehicles are getting smarter. System by system, sensors and computer processors with software and algorithms are taking vehicles to new and more intelligent heights. In the name of productivity, efficiency and safety, intelligent braking systems are on the rise, albeit slowly in some off-road applications.
Working on the same path, the VIth semester Mechanical students of CT Polytechnic College have designed Intelligent Braking System with power control brake system. It applies the brake after detecting anything in front of the vehicle instantly.
The team of students included Sonu Saurav, Ramandeep, Jatinder Chopra, Naresh, Sumit, Prakash, Sompat, Saket, Kunal and Ujjwal under the guidance of Er.. Munish Digra. After the successful working of the prototype, the students are going to implement the project in the car. Mr. Ramandeep said that In India more than 1214 people died because of road accidents. The use of sensors, manipulators and executors in the project would help to decrease the number of such accidents because of nap issues. The lights has been installed those automatically switch on while detecting any hurdle before the vehicle.
Er. Gautam Kocher (Principal, CT Polytechnic College) said that today automobiles manufacturer is largely adopting smart electronic features and gadgets to enhance sale and popularity of their products. This project is such an attempt in this direction .This prototype version depicts the more advance Google driverless car.
Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) said that in its early stage this vehicle senses the obstacle in front and automatically comes or halts as the sensor, manipulator and actuator works in coordination to stop the rotating wheels. Other features like antitheft device, surveillance, and night flashers are also in built.
