Jalandhar, November 12, 2014: Thematic learning -  a new way of looking at teaching. Curriculum integration has received a great deal of attention in educational settings. Thematic curriculum organises all the instructions of a particular group of students around a theme. An integrated study is one in which children broadly explore knowledge in various subjects related to certain aspects of their environment and there is a link amongst various areas i.e humanities, communication arts, natural sciences, mathematical skills, social skills, music and art. The “standardised referential thematic curriculum” being run at Ivy World School, Jalandhar by the Synergy School provides all these opportunities to the learners. It views learning and teaching in a holistic way and reflects the real world which is interactive.

It offers joyful and creative learning experiences. One such learning experience was witnessed during the pizza making activity by the students of grade 3 at Ivy World School. The highlights of the activity were the role of yeast in fermentation of the dough , kitchen hygiene etc. The students were also explained the concept of fractions by dividing the baked pizzas into parts. The students also learnt the art of sharing with each other. The activity was conducted in the presence of the Principal, S. Chauhan who encouraged the students to participate in such kind of activities for an all round development of the students.
