Jalandhar, September 27, 2019: In the endeavour to promote the world tourism day, Department of Hospitality Management of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions celebrated 40th World Tourism Day with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Prof. Deepak Paul (Principal, Hotel Management), Dr.Shailesh Tripathi (Group Director, Innocent Hearts) and Asst. Prof.Gagandeep Humpal (HOD, Hotel Management Department) Welcome the Guest of Honour of event Aradhana Bowry (Executive Director, College) and the Chief Guest Sabyasachi Chatterjee, (General Manager, 'ITC Fortune Avenue').
The event started with lighting of lamp by all dignitaries namely Aradhana Bowry (Executive Director, College), Sabyasachi Chatterjee, (General Manager, 'ITC Fortune Avenue'), Prof.Deepak Paul (Principal, Hotel Management), and Dr.Shailesh Tripathi (Group Director, Innocent Hearts Group ).
Sabyasachi Chatterjee briefed the history of tourism day. He stated that tourism plays a key part in advancing social learning and to show public how tourism affects the economic values of a country.
The theme of the event was “Indian Culture”. In which culture and cuisine, of seven different states Kerala, Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Kashmir and Himachal of the country were represented by the students of Hotel Management Department. The students won the heart of audience by presenting the site view of all the different states.
Prof Deepak Paul (Principal, HM) presented a vote of thanks to the chief guests. He stated that the objective of this event is to acquaint the faculty and students with the social, economic, cultural and political importance of tourism and make them responsible tourists in turn. He appreciated the efforts of faculty members and students for organising such a wonderful event and congratulated them for the same.
