INLD seeks probe into Hooda government's land deals

Chandigarh, May 14 (IANS) Haryana's main opposition party Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) Wednesday sought a special investigation team (SIT) probe into various land deals and permissions granted by the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government to various builders.

"We demand the setting up of a SIT to probe the land scams of the Hooda government. These should be monitored by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court or the high court," senior INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala told media here.

Chautala said the state government had favoured big builders with permissions to help them make profits in land deals running into millions of rupees.

The Hooda government accorded these permissions to builders in violation of the rules of the NCR (National Capital Region) Planning Board, he said.

Chautala said the sub-regional plans of the NCR had been made and amended to suit the interests of builders.

He said the state government favoured certain builders with Change of Land Use (CLU) licences by making the 2021 master plan for the NCR without taking the permission of the NCR board.

Haryana surrounds national capital Delhi from three sides and land prices in adjoining districts of Gurgaon, Jhajjar, Faridabad, Sonipat and Rohtak are quite high due to their proximity to Delhi.
