INITIATIVE: Forum for Integrated Security Punjab organises “Sarhad Ko Parnam”

Jalandhar, November 23, 2012: Forum for Integrated Security, Punjab president Brigadier (Retd) Jagdish Gagneja today said the forum had organised two-day programme “Sarhad Ko Parnam” on November 21 and 22.

At a press conference at Vishav Samwad Kendra here today, he added the main vision of the programme was to go the International Border and meet the families living near the line of control (LoC).

He told that the Indian Army, Security Forces kept strict vigil on the International Border; it was the duty of the people to keep the security intact of the nation. He revealed that the youths visited the international border and had direct interaction with the families living near the border and even tried to know the difficulties they were facing in the present arena. He said visitors brought mud/sand from their native villages and as a respect marked the mud on the forehead of the people residing in the border areas. And similarly brought the mud/sand from the international border which would be marked as a respect on the foreheads of their native villagers.

He revealed that in Punjab, three base camps were organised one each at Pathankot, Amritsar and Ferozepur. He said human chain was formed at Attari Bus Stand.

He told that their vision was always focused on that the youths should have one vision ‘We are Sons of this Country”. He said the programme’s first phase was concluded, adding people residing at border areas welcomed the society members and gave warm welcome to them.

Further, he said that this programme covered 15 states where the International Border was adjoining land.
