Later, an irated mob had manhandled SGPC member Darshan Singh Sherkhan, who had gone there to express his resentment over the incident.
The blockade at Harike Headquarter continued on the fifth consecutive day due to which hundreds of passenger had to bear the brunt. Simranjit Singh Mann, President, SAD (A), also participated in the dharna for few hours. Mann threatened to boycott the 2017 assembly polls and said that the dharna will continue until the culprits behind the whole incident are nabbed.
The Amritsar-Khemkaran section which was blocked was restored today afternoon. However, four trains were cancelled in this section.
