Industry being forced to form SPV

Ludhiana, September 6, 2019: Upkar Singh Ahuja, President and Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary of CICU said that Government is forcing industry to form SPV which is not right. Government is going back on its assurance on providing basic infrastructure to industry.
Several meetings with Chairman, PSIEC, Gurpreet Gogi, Industry minister Sunder Sham Arora have not provided any significant result.
Government is not ready to provide any basic facilities, but want industry to face global competition.
Chief Minister announced grant of Rs.32 Crores a year back but even a single penny has been provided so far. The condition of roads and sewer are in pitiable condition. It is so disappointing for the Industry that after holding that so many meetings with the local administration and bureaucrats, not even a small step has been taken so far. The Industrialists are questioning the credibility of the government as CMs announcement has also not yielded anything.
Instead of providing basic infrastructure, Senior Bureaucrats are putting pressure on industrialists to make SPV & then take grant from government.
A very senior bureaucrat has sent a very strong message through local industry office to put pressure on industrialists of focal point to make SPV in order to get grant from Punjab government.
J.S Bhogal, VP, CICU said, how can we trust government, they do not honour their words.
Pankaj Sharma who is also President Association of Focal Point Industries said, "At the time of allotment of plots PSIEC has assured to provide good roads & sewer lines as basic infrastructures, now they are backing out of their own promise.
Nowhere in the agreement or in allotment letter it is mentioned that SPV has to be made".
Industry is going through a very bad phase due to massive & economic slowdown. Government instead of helping industry to survive is putting more burden on them by asking them to do much thing.
Rajnish Ahuja who formed SPV in phase –IV has time & again expressed his anguish to government and shared his problems of SPV. It took Ahuja and S.C Ralhan 7 years to make and run SPV, which is even now not able to perform at 10%. None of the roads or sewer is working in phase-IV.
O.P Bassi, President of Association of Phase-VIII, Focal Point has categorically refused to be part of this process as it is not practical & easy now. Bureaucratic hassle in the process of making SPV & operating it has provided it to be a futile exercise.
K.K Garg, Association of Induction Furnace, Vineet Gupta, Joint Secretary, Anil Gupta, Gen. Sec. Anil Sachdeva, Vice-President of Association of Focal Point Industries have issued statement that government is running away from their responsibilities.
On one hand Punjab government is looking for Investment from MNCs and on the other hand they are not able to provide basic infrastructure to existing Industry.
