Ludhiana, January 23, 2019: Punjab Industries & Commerce Minister Mr Sunder Sham Arora today said that very soon, all clearances for industrial projects of up to Rs 10 crore would be sanctioned at district level. He said that the Punjab government would soon issue a notification in this regard, where the Deputy Commissioners will have powers to clear the projects of up to Rs 10 crore at their level itself.
It is pertinent to mention that at present, projects of up to Rs 1 crore are sanctioned at district level and when the new notification is implemented, it would prove very beneficial for the industry.
Mr Arora, during his visit at the premises of Ludhiana Beverages Pvt Ltd, here, said that the Capt Amarinder Singh led state government is committed for the welfare of industry. He said that without industry, the state cannot grow and that is why, he himself visits various industries regularly so that he can have a first hand information about their problems and issues. “Instead of sitting in my office, I prefer visiting the industries regularly,” he said.
He said that the main aim of the Punjab government is to provide an atmosphere where ease of doing business is the main priority. He said that the Industrial and Business Development Policy of the state government has been framed after several deliberations with all stakeholders so that the industrialists can avail full benefits of the policies.
He informed that several policies for the welfare of industry have been framed by the government and assured that there is no shortage of funds when it comes to boosting industrial growth in Punjab. He urged the industrialists to take full advantage of the policies of the government.
Mr Sunder Sham Arora informed that last month, MoU’s amounting thousands of crores have been signed between the state government and industries. He informed that the industry, with which MoU’s have been signed, has already started work on ground level.
Mr Ramesh Joshi, General Secretary, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and the top management of Ludhiana Beverages Pvt Ltd were also present on the occasion.
