Industrial policy 2013 be applicable retrospectively w.e.f. April 1, 2013 or when it was circulated by government: Juneja

Ludhiana, November 7, 2013: The SAD – BJPs leaders and Punjab government’s top level officials, Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor, Deputy Mayor, MLAs, Councilors, office bearers, chiefs of various Morchas and Cells and others took part in the various meetings held at circuit house, Ludhiana to discuss the general development of Punjab and specifically of Ludhiana on all fronts.

Tikshan Sood, Som Nath IAS (Retd), S.S. Dhillon and other leaders held various meetings and representations for consideration at appropriate for doing the needful. Ashok Juneja, Convenor, Economic Cell, BJP, Punjab & former chairman Ludhiana Improvement Trust highlighted the issues of fiscal incentives contained in the industrial promotion policy 2013 circulated by Punjab Government in June 2013. Expressing his views Juneja said that most of the industrialists in good faith have already made expansions and installed new machinery w.e.f. June 4, 2013 the date of publication and circulation of said policy considering that it is applicable from the date of publication by Punjab Government.  Now, it is stated by the government that it is still to be notified and pronounced finally on November 14 at Ludhiana by Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal. Juneja said that it should be applicable retrospectively w.e.f. April 1, 2013 or when it was circulated by government.

Juneja, Zonal Member CII and President Punjab Tax Bar Association appreciated that VAT refunds will be issued to top best tax payers within 15 days and to 2nd, 3rd & 4thcategories tax payers within 25-35-45 days by virtue of which the huge capital amount will not be stuck or withheld with VAT department. He also submitted to high ups a representation which suggested the modes for smooth working of VAT department and for convenience of counsels and dealers connected to said department.
