Jalandhar, May 25, 2015: The Indian Air Force Basketball Championship 2015-16 is being organised at Air Force Station Halwara from 22 May 15 to 26 May 15. Teams from seven Air Commands and Air HQs are participating in the event. The championship was inaugurated and declared open by Air Commodore PK Vohra Vayu Sena Medal Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station Halwara.
The inaugural match was played between the teams of Western Air Command (WAC) and Training Command (TC) of Indian Air Force. The match was evenly contested and the Western Air Command (WAC) team beat the Training Command (TC) team by 55-54 score in a tough encounter. The winner team of this Basket Ball Championship to represent the IAF in the forth coming Inter Services Championship. Students of the Air Force School Halwara presented a cultural program to make the evening colourful.
