Ludhiana, September 21, 2018: ?Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Spokesman Darshan Singh Shankar asked the Akali Dal to put pressure on Modi Government to make Passage to Sri Kartarpur Sahib the major issue during Foreign Minister's meeting to be held on September 25 in Amerika on the side lines of UN General meeting. He added that it was the right time to get the Passage opened, as Pakistan Government had already expressed its consent, which was disclosed by holding a press conference by their Information Minister. He said that it was most unfortunate and uncalled for that Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal had made several statements to prove the claim of Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu as false regarding the consent for opening of Kartarpur Passage by Pak Army Chief during oath taking ceremony of Pakistan's new PM Imran Khan. He said the world over Sikh Community was overwhelmed to listen a good news on their long pending desire.
Mr.Shankar said that now in a letter Pakistan PM Imran Khan sent to PM Modi has expressed his desire to settle all bilateral issues through talks and to further enhance the trade and religious tourism among both countries. He added that the passage opened before the 550th Parkash Utsav of great Guru Sri Nank Dev Ji, known as the prophet of human values, tranquility and brotherhood will be matchless gift to the entire Sikh community in particular and whole humanity in general gift from Union Government.
Mr.Shankar asserted that their should not be any politics over such a big issue and it will no way adversely affect the security concerns of any country. He further added that on earlier Ex- PMs Sh.Atal Bihar Vajpayee and Dr.Manmohan Singh had also raised this issue with their counterparts, but now the atmosphere was most favourable. He also claimed that the Sikh community settled all over world in crores participate in the 550th Parkash Purv of great Guru in 2019.
