Inauguration of Muthoot M George Excellence Award 2016 distribution & Cash prizes for Telangana Government Schools

Hyderabad, December 26, 2016 : Muthoot Finance Ltd, India's largest gold loan company's Corporate Social Responsibility wing Muthoot M George Foundation inaugurated it's educational initiative ‘Muthoot M George Excellence Awards distribution 2016’ for all government schools in Telangana. The educational initiative is a part of one of the Corporate Social Responsibility activity undertaken by the company.
The Excellence award for 2016 was inaugurated and distributed by Mr. Eapen Alexander, Director, The Muthoot Group. The other officials present during this occasion include, Mrs. Anuradha Devi Deputy Inspector of Schools-Golconda Mandal, Mrs. P. Veera Lakshmi Head Mistress -Govt High School- Trishulpark (Bolaram), Mr. Babu John Malayil, DGM Corporate Communications Muthoot Finance Ltd, Lt.Col. R. Sreekanth, Regional Manager, Hyderabad Region, Lt.Col. Chandrasekharan Suresh, Regional Manager, Secunderabad Region, along with PTA members, Students and Parents.
This scholarship will benefit students of 200 Government schools and consists of a cash prize of Rs.3000/- with a certificate duly signed by Educational Officer and Chairman of Muthoot M George Foundation. The scholarship award was launched in the year 2010 to the toppers of govt schools in Kerala; later in 2013 it got extended to state of Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The selection of the scholarships is based on the list of rank holders prepared of various govt schools in consultation with District Educational Offices.
Speaking on this occasion Mr. Eapen Alexander said, “This year we are planning to distribute scholarships to 200 govt school students in Telangana as we felt that we should encourage the children from the deprived class, who constitute the main student population of Government schools and support. We will remain duly committed towards our commitment to the community through coming up with various corporate social responsibility in the near future.”
