Inauguration of Kart Design Challenge at GNA University by Gadkari

Jalandhar, February 25, 2019: GNA University inaugurated the 5 days “Kart Design Challenge 2019” powered by Spur Motorsports Pvt Ltd and hosted by GNA University and supported by GNA Group of Industries under the benign presence of the Chief Guest, Mr.Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways of India from February 24- 28, 2019. Kart Design Challenge, an intercollegiate automotive design competition for the undergraduate and graduate engineering students witnessed the massive participation of more than 600+ students from across the Nation to design and fabricate a Go-Kart during these 5 days competition. The “Kart Design Challenge” commenced with the Lamp lighting ceremony done by Chief Guest, Mr.Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways of India and the Guest of Honour, Mr. Vijay Sampla, Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment in India along with Mr.Shwait Malik, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha& Punjab BJP Chief. During the address of the worthy Chief Guest, Mr.Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways of India to the august gathering, he said, “The youth of India possesses immense potential and talent. The students at GNA University should instil in themselves the passion of research and should indulge in projects that are helpful for the society at large.” The Chief Guest & the Guest of Honour along with the other dignitaries launched the “Kart Design Challenge Event Handbook” and proceeded for the flagging off the vehicles. After the Flag off ceremony, all the Team Captains of the 32 teams raced their designed karts on the path followed by the Tree Plantation done by the Chief Guest. S. Gurdeep Singh, CEO GNA Gears and Pro- Chancellor, GNA University said, “Hosting Kart Design Challenge in which teams from PAN India is participating is a grandiose out of the classroom learning. This event will not only provide a big platform to the budding engineers to enhance their technical skills but will also provide them with a flavour of National level competitive spirit.” Prof. Dr. V.K. Rattan Vice-Chancellor, GNA University in his Welcome Address briefed the budding participants about the “Kart Design Challenge” and acknowledged the presence of the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. He said, “GNA University feels highly privileged to seek the benign presence of the worthy Chieg Guest who presence will be a strong motivation for these 5 days Kart Design Challenge to the budding engineers.” The event was duly witnessed by the techno youth of around 600+ from almost all the states of India and the representatives from SMPL & team GNA University and GNA Group of Industries along with the elite gathering of members from across the city.
