Inauguration of Guru Nanak Bagichi

Ludhiana, November 5, 2019: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, dedicating the chain of events to celebrate 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, organised an inaugural event for the newly constructed ‘Guru Nanak Bagichi’ in the campus.
The objectives behind this construction is to make the students aware of the divine relationship between ‘kudrat’ and ‘kadar’, to make their surroundings clean and green and also to encourage them to preserve and restore the nature and it’s resources as well.
S.Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, former cabinet minister and S.Tarlochan Singh former Chairman, Minority National Commission inaugurated ‘Guru Nanak Bagichi’. Dr Arvinder Singh, college Principal, told that this ‘Bagichi’ is an outcome of the great efforts and able guidance of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council, members of Gurmat Sabha and Campus Beautification committee. It will help the students to be aware of the environment along with getting directions from gurbaani as this Bagichi consists a lot of Nanak-Baani quotes engraved on the boards all around.
The chief guests of the event S.Dhindsa and S.Tarlochan Singh appreciated the endeavours of college management committee, principal and entire staff members and said that it was a meaningful step to create such a Bagichi which symbolises Guru Nanak's preaching and his philosophy.
Dr S. P. Singh Honourary General Secretary, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council (former Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar) and other members of the committee witnessed this pious ceremony. Dr S. P. Singh, congratulating all the staff members said that it was important to make the students aware of Guru Nanak's philosophy as well as his preaching and he also insisted on taking various new measures and steps to fulfill the objectives of this initiative.
